Croatia

We have heard a lot of positive things about Croatia so we did want to find out what was it all about. We also had an  anniversary to celebrate together with rest of the family so we agreed early to  combine some sightseeing and sailing.

To experience more than just the coastline we started of in Zagreb. I is a nice city with most parts within walking distance.

From Zagreb we drove small roads to coast and the island Krk where we stayed in Nivijce. As we visited Croatia during football world championship we tried to find somewhere to watch the most important matches e.g. involving Croatia.

From Krk we drove south along the coast to Zadar and Primosten. The weather was terrible with strong winds and heavy rain and thunderstorms. Primosten is a gem worth visiting.

In Trogir we joined the rest of the family and entered the sailingboat we have rented for a week. During the week we visited the islands of Solta, Vis, Korcula and Hvar. Most nights we found nice bays where we dropped the anchor or tied to a bouy.

After a fantastic week of sailing under different conditions we were back in Trogir and disembarked the sailingboat. My wife and I spend a day discovering the nice old town of Trogir before flying back to Copenhagen.
