Northern Spain

Having explored different parts of Italy we decided to do a roundtrip in northern Spain including parts of Basque, Asturia and Castillia y Leon regions. We spend two weeks starting in beginning of May and had all sorts of weather including hail, heavy rain and blue skies with temperatures ranging from 5  to 28 degrees Celsius.

We have heard a lot of positive things about Croatia so we did want to find out what was it all about. We also had an  anniversary to celebrate together with rest of the family so we agreed early to  combine some sightseeing and sailing.

To experience more than just the coastline we started of in Zagreb. I is a nice city with most parts within walking distance.

Some years ago I had the opportunity to visit Prague but only having the time for one day to look around. I also wanted to show Prague to my wife so we decided on short notice to take an extended weekend trip to rediscover Prague. The weather was acceptable for walking around and there was probably less turists compared to high season. Anyhow we had an intense weekend with a lot of walking and time to visit pubs, restaurants, museums, jazz clubs and beautiful buildings (as you can see on photos below).

Puglia is the south east part of Italy i.e. the heel of the booth. 2016 we decided to take some weeks to discover this part of Italy. We visited the region of Bari, Brindisi and Lecce  in Puglia but also a small detour to Matera which is part of Basilicata.

In Bari region we stayed at old farmhouse in the middle of the olive trees that once was producing fine olive oil but now converted to hotel. From here we did day trips to Alberolli, Locorotondo, Monopoli, Polignano da Mare and on the way south Ostuno. The white coned top houses in Allberolli, called Trulli houses, are inherited from the Turks and is said to protect from  massive load of snow.

A short winter visit to London to particapte in a conference but also to get some time for streetphotography. Visited Club 606, Notting hill, Leadenhall market, city and area round O2. Most photos taken with my neat Fujifilm X20 but some few with mobile phone. There is always something interesting to discover in London. Lots of opportunities for streetphotography.
